Our warranty is the best in the business. Just like you’d expect from Honda.

  • 5 FULL YEARS OF COVERAGE & PEACE OF MIND

    Yes, you read that right. All new Honda Outboard motors purchased for recreational use from an authorized Honda Marine dealer will be warranted against defects in material or workmanship for five (5) years from date of purchase. It’s that simple.

  • A Real, Factory Direct Warranty

    The True 5 warranty is offered and fully backed by Honda Marine for the life of the warranty. It’s not a 3rd party “extended service” contract, like most of our competitors offer.

    There’s a big difference: the third party warranty companies often are more concerned with limiting claim payouts than with satisfying your service needs.

  • RIGGING COMPONENTS INCLUDED*

    Introducing Honda Marine True 5 Limited Warranty expanded rigging coverage.

    The industry’s best warranty now provides five full years of peace-of-mind protection on Honda Marine rigging components and systems for new package boat sales and repowers.*

    Rigging coverage includes controls, control cables, gauges, switches, tiller handles, displays, and more.

  • Non-Declining

    True 5 coverage is the same on the last day of coverage as it is on the first. This is not like "pro-rated" warranties that offer decreasing coverage as the warranty approaches its end date.

    With Honda’s True 5 Warranty, your motor is covered from top to bottom – from the first day to the last day of your warranty.

  • Fully Transferable

    Selling your boat? No problem. The original engine warranty still applies, even if it changes owners.

How to find your emission label

*Applicable for new package boat sales or new repower package purchases made January 1, 2026 and later only. New boat packages: True 5 eligible rigging parts must be included in new boat package Bill of Materials at point of sale, or Honda pre-rig listed on boat builder Bill of Materials. Repowers: True 5 eligible rigging parts must be included in an itemized list with the new outboard at point of sale. True 5 rigging is not eligible for manufacturer extended protection coverage, such as HondaCare Protection Plan® (HPP). See Honda Marine Distributor’s Limited Warranty for more details. True 5 rigging customers must retain proof of purchase for the duration of the warranty period. Honda Marine reserves the right to deny claims for failure to provide proof of purchase.
